I'm heading down to the bay area in a few weeks, and I would like to take the opportunity (if there is, indeed, one) of buying some quality vegan shoes down there.
Please, OH PLEASE, anyone and everyone tell me of some vegan/vegetarian shoes stores down there.
What I really need is a pair of the best kind of vegan hiking/work boots that I can work in, and that will last long time -- and of course without paying WAY too much money ;-D

Re: Buy Vegan Shoes in Bay Area
Thu, September 17, 2009 - 1:23 PMTo be perfectly honest, I buy all of my shoes online, because there's no one good store in the bay area (that I know of) that has a wide selection of vegan shoes...
I like:

Fri, September 18, 2009 - 10:01 PMI, also, haven't found any shoe stores in the Bay Area that sell only vegan shoes. You have to search non-animal shoes out. I've found discount shoes such as Payless Shoes often sells faux leather shoes, not because they care about vegan issues but because they are cutting costs. But I doubt they'd have a good hiking boot / work boot.
I bought a nice pair of hiking shoes that are made of all man made materials, made by Salomon. You could try looking for man made material shoes at wilderness stores such as REI or North Face while you are in the Bay Area.

Sat, September 26, 2009 - 8:24 AMThanks everyone -- actually, I too have been buying my shoes online for years -- was looking forward to perhaps being able to try some top-notch ultra-modern shoes among a variety on for size first-hand, figuring that there must (finally) be a vegan shoes/clothing store, if anywhere, in the Bay Area. Alas, I guess not ;-/ Maybe in a few more years....
After searching and searching again online I found a pair of hiking shoes though I am looking forward to getting:
Turns out, it's the Garmont Nagevi XCR -- go figure, Joe!

I also may get, one of these days, not cause they're hikers, but seemingly good shoes:
